Our philosphy of care

Letting someone into your home when you need a bit of help can be daunting. You need a team of carers you feel comfortable with and can trust. This is why we focus on connecting with you and your family to ensure you feel understood. This is our relationship-based model of caregiving.

Our Service Care Manager studies the client's wishes and preferences. All decisions in relation to the client's are made with the involvement of family and friends to produce an agreed care plan which reflects their specific personal needs.

We want to give our clients a chance to live their life to the full, and to be cared for at home by experienced and well trained staff who recognise and are familiar with their needs.

Our care teams are trained ensure that duties and tasks will be carried out in a manner that respects privacy, dignity and independency.

Assurance of quality

The aim of the First-Choice carers, is to be the Home Care Service of choice in the local community. All of our caregivers are determined to provide care services of outstanding quality to people in their own homes. Being an innovative and supportive organisation it is necessary to understand the needs, perceptions and preference of our clients, and set up the tools and channels for two-way communications between our caregivers, our clients, their relatives and close friends.

In order to keep in line with the principles of good care practice, and to maintain the highest standards, our caregiving is constantly reviewed. We apply the quality control mechanisms and legal reference of Regulation 17 of the 'Health and Social Care Act 2008' as well as 'Regulated Activities' (Regulations 2014).

We operate in best interest of our clients by following a combination of the following principals:

  • Supervision of all our caregivers
  • Continuous learning and training
  • Client's and family's feedback
  • Service quality reviews

Core hours are 09.00-17.00.
Outside of the core hours, weekends and Bank Holidays, the telephone is on diverting ‘on call’ system.
